The property had been converted into apartments in the 1960 and the new owner wanted to transform it back to its original glory. The interior of the property including ceilings was stripped out. The stone fireplaces and inserts were in a bad state of repair and had been painted over with many parts broken and missing. The brief was to restore these fireplaces and bring back the opulence into these rooms. Our bespoke fireplace team had to replicate an original Victorian Corbel in creme marble to match the existing fireplace in one of the rooms. During the restoration we had to make up many new parts, which were broken and missing. The metal inserts were also treated to a full restoration at the same time. The breakfast room demanded a modern fireplace and the fireplace that suited the brief perfectly was our modern Ambrosia fireplace with an extended shelf
