Lifestyle was commissioned by talented interior designer
Laurence Lewis to manufacture, supply and install custom
made fireplaces for the Breakfast room, TV room, Drawing
room, Study and Bed room. The project was unique as
the quality and finish of the products had to exceed all
expectations. Materials used consisted of natural
limestone, travertine, brushed stainless steel and antique
bronze.
It took three years to complete this eight-bedroom, faux Queen Anne-style property located near Southend in Essex. "The owners wanted it to suit their modern lifestyle.
With a house like this you run the risk building a pastiche inside. The concept I proposed was to make it look as if it has been burned down and then rebuilt in a very modern way using sysmmetry to create balance," say interior designer Laurence Lewis, who oversaw the project from the foundations upwards.
"IN MANY WAYS, THE HOUSE IS UNDERSTATED IN THAT THE MATERIALS BLEND IN RATHER FEATURE, WHICH IS NOT WHAT'S EXPECTED OF A GRAND PROPERTY"
