state-of-the-art showroom to offer their customers the full product range with
individual service, design advice and expert installation.

Fireplace Range
The wide range of reproduction mantelpieces is inspired by antique designs such
as French Rococo, 17th century Baroque and 19th century English Regency styles.
Acantha's highly skilled designers continually strive to create new designs in
both antique and contemporary styles ensuring their customers are offered the
latest style and quality combined with the timeless beauty of natural material.
Quality of Production
Acantha's commitment to producing the highest quality products combined with
professional and reliable service has proven to be a successful formula in
ensuring the continuing growth of the company. Acantha's involvement from
material extraction to manufacture guarantees the finest natural marble and
stone mantelpieces. All the designs are carved from the best quality raw blocks
by Acantha's team of dedicated craftsmen. Acantha's stone is the choice of
architects and designers for its beauty, quality and consistency.
Raw blocks are delivered directly to Acantha's factory and their special
production unit cuts the blocks using the latest technology. The stringent
quality control ensures that all Acantha's products meet an industry defined
Quality Control Procedure consisting of acceptable veining, precise fitting,
high quality carving and polishing.
Acantha's quest to provide customers with the finest quality mantelpieces begins
with sourcing for quarries all over the world, often travelling to remote
hillsides, where marble is in the process of being extracted. Their experienced
engineers select quarries which are capable of producing the highest quality
marble blocks, sometimes weighing up to 100 tons.
Acantha's master craftsmen offer a bespoke masonry service creating uniquely
designed mantelpieces to individual specification. Customers can choose their
preferred natural materials from the extensive range of colours and textures
with professional design and technical advice from Acantha's Bespoke team.
The History of Limestone
By definition, a limestone is a sedimentary rock made of calcium carbonate, CaCO3. All limestones began as a sediment on the sea floor of shallow tropical seas and were lithified (turned to stone) through the binging of the constituent grains with calcite. Sea water contains carbon dioxide (CO2) which escapes as the water is warmed up by the sun. As this happens, calcium and bicarbonate icons in the water combine to form calcium carbonate, in much the same way as limescale forming in a kettle. click here for more >>
